Building a clearer picture.
Arup were key to the development of the Haymarket Metro Station in Newcastle City Centre. They needed to have the new building and platforms visualised to help make important aesthetic and wayfinding decisions during the design process. Photo-realistic visuals of the building in situ were then created to give the public a good idea of how the station would look.
Thumb produced a 3D digital model to assist with aesthetic decision making, showcase design features, test colour schemes and to design wayfinding systems. The exterior and inner platform levels were built in detail to assist in colour design decisions.
We saved time and made well informed decisions – having representative visuals makes talking with the client so much easier in comparison to flat plans. Responsive as usual.”
